We need your help

By Peter Fuller, NLCA Treasurer

We trust you’re enjoying looking at this website. It’s produced by volunteers, as is our community newsletter, the North Laine Runner, distributed free to all North Laine residents and businesses every two months.

Our communications

The North Laine Runner has been keeping us informed of community events and threats for the last 40 years. This website has been doing so since it was created in 2008. The costs of both are met entirely by the NLCA. Monies have traditionally been raised via local traders and other businesses advertising in the Runner and by NLCA fund raising activities throughout the year. However, this is getting increasingly difficult to organise to cover all the costs and therefore the Friends scheme is becoming a more important source of revenue.

The plan

To help spread the word about our scheme, we plan to place leaflets in local shops, and are producing window stickers to raise interest. Many visitors to North Laine love this unique, quirky and vibrant heart of Brighton as much as the residents. We therefore hope that many will want to help support our vital work to protect the unique character and atmosphere of the North Laine.

Support via the Friends scheme

Of course first and foremost we hope that our readers and visitors to this site - and especially local residents - will want to support us by becoming a ‘Friend of the North Laine Community Association’. Run by residents for residents, we rely on a small band of committed, active volunteers for everything we achieve in our local area.
