Sad news

By Maureen Brand

Long term residents of North Laine will be saddened to hear of the death of Peter Stocker on 30th October.

Peter - Peter the Potter - had a shop for many years, the Workshop Pottery, in Trafalgar Street.  He was instrumental in setting up the North Laine Traders Association and was Secretary of the NLTA for some time.  Over the years he was also active within and a good friend to the North Laine Community Association and served as its Chair too for several years.

Peter was always there to give advice and assistance.  So many of us sat on the stool in his Pottery and sought his advice.  He will be sadly missed.

His funeral is in Milton Keynes on 11th November and the family intend to arrange an occasion to celebrate his life with his many friends in Brighton in due course.

Sally Potter has arranged an event to celebrating Pete's life.

When? Friday 20th November

Where? Call in any time between 3-8pm at the Master Mariner, Brighton Marina.

And if it's dry you could join us for a pre-walk along the under cliff at 2pm. Around 5pm Paul Reading and others will say a few words. If anyone would particularly like to speak, please let Sally Stocker know. Rather than a formal solemn occasion this is a chance to remember a lovely man, a fab father, a fine friend, a super organiser, master potter and a brilliant husband.
