Art competition for young people

Sammy Doublet, 14, a North Laine resident, is the first young artist to enter our art competition showing scenes from the North Laine area. Here he’s pictured with his contribution – a painting of a guitarist sitting outside Infinity Foods in North Road as people walk by.

A talented trio

Sammy Doublet lives in a creative world. Art is one of his subjects at school, his dad, Ronnie, is a craftsman, making jazz guitars at their home in the North Laine, and mum Tineke Tammes is a painter.

He wants to be an architect

Sammy says he wants to be an architect one day but he also likes to paint – he’s recently been working on a picture of Pavilion Gardens. Tineke, from Holland, loves both painting and drawing and plans to exhibit her
work soon.

The top photo on the right show Sammy holding his entry. Below that are other photos of the family, also showing some of Tineke's own artworks.
