Children in Tidy Street, 2008

A support group for local parents with young children

The Parents' Network was set up in 2006 and continues to grow quietly. It was set up at a time when there were a large number of parents with young children; indeed in Tidy Street alone there were 15 babies and young children.

The Network is loose and aims to be unpressurised, using email to raise issues affecting parents. Such issues have included nurseries, childminders and local traders.  They are discussed at meetings which take place about once a month. The Network has not only helped parents to deal with important issues but has also helped to generate new friendships and babysitting exchanges.
